Bruno Serato, owner of the Anaheim White House restaurant, plans to host one charity fundraiser each week for the next 3 years. All of the proceeds from these fundraisers will benefit the 200 local nonprofits that received the giveaway – a total value of $1 million. Starting in January 2012, the Anaheim White House will host one nonprofit group with 100 free 3-course meals, service staff and free access to the West Wing banquet hall each week.
“In these tough economic times, we all have to help each other and I wanted to reach out to other local 501c3 charities in need with a promotion that would result in pure profit for them.” said Serato.
The nonprofit organizations came to the event hoping they would be among the 12 finalists for the giveaway, only to be surprised by the announcement made by Serato, according to the restaurant. Several weeks ago, each organization had turned in a 1-page description of their mission and how they hope to use the fundraiser.
“I was so touched by each and every entry I would never have been able to choose only 12 finalists,” said Serato. “All are deserving.”
